One Thousand One Hundred and Eighty-Seven (1,187) cadets of Regular Course 7 were commissioned today, 29th November 2025, into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) following the successful completion of a rigorous five-year academic and professional training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
The Passing Out Parade (POP) celebrated the cadets’ dual achievement: commissioning as officers and earning Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines, equipping them with both academic qualifications and professional policing skills.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, congratulated the newly commissioned officers, urged them to serve with integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to police reform, improved welfare for personnel, and enhanced operational capacity.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Shanta Emily Knowles, Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs; members of the National Assembly; senior government officials; heads of sister security agencies; senior serving and retired police officers; academic faculty of the Police Academy; and traditional and religious leaders.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,in his remarks commended the resilience, discipline, and dedication of the new ASPs, emphasizing that effective policing rest on character, discipline, and professionalism. He urged them to remain steadfast in protecting lives, maintaining law and order, and rebuilding public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, in a statement reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to producing highly trained, educated, and professional officers capable of meeting contemporary security challenges.
