The Nigerian Army (NA) has reported major operational successes across the country over the past 48 hours, neutralising one terrorist, arrested 23 suspects involved in terrorism, kidnapping, child trafficking, and other criminal activities, and recovering weapons and ammunition during coordinated, intelligence-driven operations.
In the South-East and South-South, troops arrested a suspected IPOB/ESN spy in Anambra State, two alleged child traffickers in Orumba South LGA, and four suspected kidnappers in Edo State, recovering cutlasses and other items. Troops also foiled a kidnapping attempt on a serving soldier in Okpella, Edo State, rescuing him unharmed, while another four suspected kidnappers were apprehended along Afua–Ekpoma Road in Edo.
In the North-Central and FCT, operations led to the arrest of four suspected violent extremists in Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, two impostors dressed in military and police uniforms in Nasarawa State, and seven suspected kidnappers in Toto and Doma LGAs of Nasarawa. Recovered items included a machete, a dagger, and 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
Meanwhile, in the North-East/Benue–Taraba axis, troops on patrol in Katsina-Ala LGA, Benue State, engaged violent extremists, neutralised one terrorist and apprehending another. In Taraba State, troops rescued two kidnapped victims along Wukari–Ikyior Road after the criminals fled on sighting the military.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, urging the public to provide timely and credible information to support ongoing security operations.
