Nigerian Cybersecurity expert nominated for UK’s Cybersecurity Personality of the Year

Dr. Fene Osakwe, a celebrated Nigerian cybersecurity expert, has achieved a historic milestone as the first African to be nominated for the prestigious Cybersecurity Personality of the Year award in the United Kingdom.

In a statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocol Unit of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), the Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, congratulated Dr. Osakwe on the remarkable feat, describing it as a testament to his exceptional contributions to the global cybersecurity industry.

Dr. Osakwe, a multi-award-winning cybersecurity professional, career mentor, and bestselling author, is the sole African nominee in the category, competing with experts from 11 other countries. The Cybersecurity Personality of the Year award, established in 2014, recognizes outstanding individuals, teams, and organizations in the global cybersecurity sector.

The award ceremony, scheduled to take place in March, will be attended by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, further underscoring the significance of this achievement.
