The Nigerian Navy (NN) has commissioned three community development projects in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, as part of the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Projects (CNS-QIP).
The projects, inaugurated on Thursday, 28 August 2025, included a newly constructed staff duty cabin, a renovated Primary Healthcare Centre, and a 6.5 KVA solar-powered inverter system.
The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, initiated the CNS-QIP to strengthen Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) nationwide. The Orile Agege intervention was facilitated by Rear Admiral Sunday Akinwande as a contribution to his community.
Represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Doctrine Command, Rear Admiral Shehu Usman Gombe, the CNS said CIMIC enhanced collaboration between the military and civil society in support of national objectives. He added that the projects underscored the Navy’s commitment to securing lives and improving the welfare of Nigerians, in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Special Guest of Honour, Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Hon. Akinola Abiodun, praised the Nigerian Navy for prioritising community well-being. He described the projects as a symbol of resilience and progress, commended the professionalism and dedication of all stakeholders involved.
