Nigerians Unite for Tinubu/Shettima has extended the integrated free medical outreach program to the three senatorial districts of Kogi state as part of efforts to provide high quality primary healthcare to vulnerable communities.
During the inauguration of the program in Lokoja, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu emphasized the group’s commitment to providing high-impact primary healthcare services to women and children.
The free medical outreach program is a flagship initiative of Nigerians Unite for Tinubu/Shettima Mandate and is aimed at serving rural communities. The minister explained that the healthcare delivery program is one of the key initiatives of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and is aimed at providing Nigerian citizens with high impact primary healthcare services.
Dr. Aliyu also noted that the two key strategies for delivering primary healthcare services are through facility-based services and mobile/outreach services. Over time, the focus has been on facility-based services, which can cover 40% of those in need, while the remaining 60% can be achieved through focused integrated outreach services.
One of the beneficiaries of the free medical outreach program, Mallam Muhammad Bashir Abdullahi, praised the initiative of Nigerians Unite for Tinubu/Shettima Mandate and emphasized that the program will assist less privileged members of society.
The areas of intervention for the program include health education and promotion, treatment of common illnesses, vaccination of under-five children and pregnant women, and the distribution of family planning commodities. Other services provided include screening for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, routine eye screening, and screening for malnutrition, among others.
Dr. Aliyu called on Royal fathers, religious and traditional leaders, stakeholders, and other well-meaning Nigerians to support and elect Bola Tinubu as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the upcoming election on February 25th, 2023.
