The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has successfully completed the migration of all telecommunications companies in Nigeria to its upgraded National Identification Number (NIN) verification platform known as NINAuth.
This was made known in a statement issued on Wednesday , July 30, 2025, by Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate Communications of the Commission.
According to the Commission, the new platform mark a major leap in ensuring data security, efficient service delivery, and improved user experience for Nigerians accessing identity verification services.
The NINAuth platform, developed in-house by NIMC, allowed for seamless verification and secure access to services, placing more control of personal data in the hands of NIN holders.
Confirming the development, Engr. Lanre Yusuf, Director of IT/IDD at NIMC, stated that all telecom operators have been fully migrated and are currently offering uninterrupted NIN verification services.
While reassuring the public of the functionality and accessibility of the verification and authentication platforms, NIMC urged Nigerians experiencing issues related to new SIM registration, SIM swap, migration, or ‘welcome back’ SIMs to contact their respective telecom providers directly for resolution.
This latest move underscored NIMC’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity infrastructure and ensuring reliable and secure identity verification services for all.
