The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has concluded its 2025 promotion exercise with the elevation of 523 staff members across various cadres, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, approved the promotions following the successful conduct of the statutory exercise, which forms part of the public service performance reward system for officers who met the requirements outlined in the Public Service Rules (PSR).
Providing details of the exercise, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, disclosed that two officers were promoted to the Director cadre (Grade Level 17), while eight advanced to the rank of Deputy Director (GL 16). He added that 35 officers were elevated to Assistant Director (GL 15), with another 35 promoted to Chief Identity Officer (GL 14).
According to him, 109 officers progressed to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13), 113 to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), 82 to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10), and 130 officers were promoted to the rank of Identity Officer I (GL 9).
Congratulating the newly promoted officers, Engr. Coker-Odusote charged them to regard their elevation as a renewed call to service and an opportunity to contribute more meaningfully to national development. She reiterated the Commission’s zero-tolerance policy on extortion and warned staff against all forms of unethical conduct.
The DG/CEO further urged all staff members to intensify their efforts in 2026 to ensure the successful implementation of the National Identification Number (NIN) project, while reaffirming her administration’s commitment to staff welfare and the promotion of dignity of labour.
