The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced a public review session for the Draft Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Live Events and the Draft Technical Standard for the Nigerian Data Exchange (NGDX).
The session is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Digital Economy Complex, NCC Building, Mbora, Abuja, starting at 9:00 AM. It forms part of NITDA’s Rule-Making Process (RMP), which seeks to co-create regulatory instruments that are trusted, inclusive, and sustainable, while aligning Nigeria’s digital transformation with global best practices.
The Draft DPI Live Event is designed to support the seamless deployment of national digital infrastructure, enhance e-Government services, and foster private sector collaboration. The NGDX Standard seeks to provide a unified, secure framework for data sharing across government and private institutions, reducing inefficiencies and promoting innovation in key sectors such as finance, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
Built with robust safeguards for data protection, authentication, and privacy, the NGDX aligns with international best practices and positions Nigeria as a digital infrastructure leader in Africa.
Ahead of the session, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, emphasized that inclusive stakeholder participation is critical to the success of the initiatives. “Nigeria’s digital public infrastructure must be co-created with stakeholders to ensure resilience, foster innovation, and build trust,” he said, urging active contributions from government, industry, academia, and civil society.
The DPI and NGDX initiatives form part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with support from international partners through the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative and technical collaborations with countries including Finland, Estonia, Germany, and France.
