The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2024–2027), has partnered with the Lagos State Government to strengthen digital transformation policies at the sub-national level.
At a technical session held at Semicolon Africa, Lagos, NITDA engaged the Lagos State Technical Working Group (TWG) under the theme “Policy Alignment, Innovation, and Digital Inclusion for Sub-National Development.”
The session brought together representatives of NITDA’s Southwest Zonal Office, officials of the Lagos State Government, TWG members, and private sector stakeholders to localise national IT frameworks while accelerating policy adoption across the state.
Discussions centred on NITDA’s Regulatory Intelligence Framework (RIF), with actionable feedback from TWG members on policy implementation challenges. The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging NITDA’s strategic frameworks, including SRAP 2.0, the National Digital Literacy Framework (NDLF), and the Nigeria Startup Act, to deepen digital inclusion nationwide.
The TWG pledged to support Lagos State in developing and executing policies that enhance public service delivery, drive innovation, and empower underserved communities.
According to NITDA, the session represented a significant milestone in its sub-national engagement model, positioning Lagos as a leading template for policy co-creation, stakeholder collaboration, and inclusive digital governance.
