NUJ FCT Council advocates Ethical Journalism at VON Chapel New Executive Inauguration

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has reiterated its commitment to ethical journalism and professional excellence during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executives of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) NUJ Chapel.

The event, held on Monday, witnessed the reaffirmation of the council’s dedication to upholding integrity and objectivity in the media profession.

Speaking on behalf of the NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Ms. Grace Ike, the Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, alongside the Vice Chairman, Mr. Yahaya Ndambabo, applauded the VON Chapel members for their unity and dedication.

“You need to support one another and avoid abandoning your colleagues midway.

“The NUJ FCT Council will continue to support the chapel and ensure that the ethics of journalism are sustained. Be good ambassadors of the union and justify the confidence reposed in you by members.” Oyekunle urged.

The newly elected Chairman of the VON NUJ Chapel, Mrs. Feyisayo Oyebanji, expressed her gratitude to members for their trust and pledged to work diligently to uphold the chapel’s values.

“I appreciate your confidence in my leadership and promise to work tirelessly to uphold the values and expectations of this chapel,” she said. “Together, we will achieve greater heights and reinforce our commitment to ethical journalism.”

The newly inaugurated executives included:

Chairman: Feyisayo Oyebanji

Vice Chairman: Aisha John Mark

Secretary: Ernest Eke

Financial Secretary: Angela Agbegir

Auditor: Stanley Madu

The election process was noted for its professionalism and camaraderie, reflecting the collective resolve of members to advance the chapel’s objectives.

The NUJ FCT Council representatives pledged continued support for the VON NUJ Chapel, encouraging the new executives to build on the successes of their predecessors.
