NYSC @50: DG NPC calls for more supports to enhance Corps Members Productivity.

The outgoing Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC, Dr Kashim Akor has called for more concerted efforts both from government and private sector to give both serving and ex corps members meaningful engagements during and after service.

 

Dr Kashim Akor made this remark on Wednesday in his office when he gave audience to mark the five decades of NYSC scheme, stating that the mandate of the scheme geared towards national unity should be sustained.

 

He said towards this end the National Productivity Centre among many other things launched NYSC Handbook as part of the centre’s contributions towards national integration and development.

 

He lauded the founding fathers of the scheme and commended the present administration for sustaining the scheme inspite of the negative statements been made against the cancellation of the scheme.

 

He asked the NYSC members to remain steadfast, while appealing to both public and private sector to design a lasting scheme that will give serving and former members sense of belongings.

 

He congratulated the current handlers for maintaining this feat five decades after , saying the scheme is the brain behind national cohesion and advancement.

 

Dr Kashim Akor as part of his last engagements presided over the tenders board, worship with the christian brothers at the chapel, received his post- secondary school mates in the office and commence the process of handing over to the incoming Director General, Dr Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha by carrying out the physical handing over of the new official vehicles to him.

 

His final official engagements scheduled to hold at the premises tomorrow 18th, May 2023 will be the valedictory and formal handing over ceremony to the newly appointed Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC.
