As the National Youth Service Corps preparing to celebrate its 50th Anniversary of tremendous contributions to national development, a Non-Governmental Organisation, What Next Africa, has donated fifty new laptop computers to enhance the smooth operations of the Scheme.
The organization also applauded the contributions of the Scheme in the areas of education, health, rural development and other sectors in the last fifty years.
Speaking during the presentation of the laptop computers to the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed at the National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, today, the Executive Director of What Next Africa, Mr Temitope Ogunlusi described Corps Members as good role models to the young ones who needs the support of every stakeholder.
He said the organisation prepared students for post-secondary life, added that there was a need to stem the tide of challenges from transiting from teenage to adulthood.
In his remarks during the presentation, the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka described What Next Africa as a Trans- Continental organisation that prioritizes career development, guidance and counselling of Secondary School students, but decided to add value to the human capital development of the NYSC.
While appreciating the donor on behalf of the Scheme, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed promised the effective utilization of the computers.
