The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course, scheduled to begin nationwide on April 22, 2026.
In a statement issued by the scheme’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the 21-day orientation exercise will take place simultaneously across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the schedule, prospective corps members will begin arrival, registration, and camp documentation on Wednesday, April 22, with the exercise concluding at midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new batch is also slated for Friday, April 24, marking the formal commencement of their national service year.
The orientation programme is expected to run until Tuesday, May 12, 2026, when participants will be deployed to their respective places of primary assignment.
The NYSC management advised all mobilised graduates to ensure safe travel to their orientation camps, reiterating its warning against night journeys.
It urged prospective corps members to break their trips by 6:00 p.m. and seek accommodation at designated safe locations such as corps lodges, military formations, police stations, or traditional rulers’ palaces before continuing their journeys the following day.
