The office of Senator David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark, former President of the Senate, has raised an alarm over the emergence of numerous fake Facebook accounts impersonating him.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Paul Mumeh, the public was urged to report the fraudulent accounts to Facebook to help curb the impersonation. Mumeh emphasized that Senator Mark does not have an official Facebook account, and any such accounts should be disregarded.
“We urge the public to be vigilant and not to engage with or recognize any Facebook accounts claiming to be associated with Senator Mark,” the statement read.
The office expressed its gratitude to those assisting in reporting the fake accounts, noted that such actions would enable Facebook to take the necessary steps to address the issue.
