The people of Ogbadibo Local Government Area have declared their unwavering support for the creation of Apa State, aligning with the position of the Honourable Member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Chief (Dr) Philip Agbese.
This firm endorsement was made during the North Central Zonal Public Hearing on the Review of the 1999 Constitution, organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Constitutional Review and held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Led by Barr. John Ali Ude, a prominent community leader and successful entrepreneur, the Ogbadibo delegation presented a strong case for constitutional amendments that would enhance grassroots governance and equitable representation in the area.
The delegation called for the reinstatement of the abolished Otukpa State Constituency, which was previously merged into the current Ogbadibo State Constituency. They also advocated for the creation of two additional local government areas Orokam and Owukpa from the present Ogbadibo LGA to deepen local autonomy and accelerate development.
The delegation, alongside other stakeholders at the session, praised Hon. Philip Agbese for his tireless and impactful representation, describing him as a committed servant-leader whose legislative actions align with the collective aspirations of his constituents.
Their united position underscored a growing grassroots consensus for constitutional reforms that promote equity, local governance, and sustainable development in Benue South and beyond.
