Ogbona community in Etsako Central Local Government Area is set to celebrate a major milestone with the inauguration of a modern Divisional Police Headquarters (DPHQ) and an advanced ICT-Data Centre, courtesy of Peter Omoh Dunia, a prominent oil and gas magnate, and the Ogbona Youth Forum (OYF). The event, scheduled for Saturday, December 21, will be graced by Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, along with key dignitaries from government and security agencies.
The multi-million naira project, aimed at boosting security in the region, is the result of a successful collaboration between Peter Dunia, also known as Peter Black, and the Ogbona Youth Forum. The initiative will provide the local police with state-of-the-art facilities, including modern office furniture, continuous power supply, and a sophisticated closed-circuit camera system to monitor the police station’s surroundings.
A standout feature of the project is the ICT-Data Centre, designed to manage and process critical crime data. The facility will assist law enforcement in tracking criminals and addressing crime-related challenges in Ogbona and its neighboring communities. Police officers will receive specialized training in managing the technology, enhancing their ability to combat criminal activities in the region.
The new DPHQ and ICT-Data Centre are expected to play a key role in reducing crime rates and ensuring greater safety for residents. Local leaders and community members have praised Peter Dunia and the Ogbona Youth Forum for their commitment to improving the security and welfare of the community.
The opening ceremony will also be attended by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, senior government officials, and traditional rulers, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Ogbona’s security and development.
