Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, has passed away. His death was confirmed on Saturday morning at an undisclosed hospital. Oluwatuyi, who was appointed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in January 2024, had previously served as the SSG during the administration of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
In December, Oluwatuyi was involved in a serious auto crash along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway. The vehicle he was traveling in veered off the road, leading to his hospitalization at the intensive care unit of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State. Despite medical efforts, Oluwatuyi succumbed to his injuries.
His passing mark a significant loss for the Ondo State government and its citizens, as he was a prominent figure in the state’s political landscape. Further details on the funeral arrangements are expected to be released in due course.
