The Commandant, Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC) Gwagwalada Abuja, Assistant Comptroller General Of Customs K C Egwu has expressed his sincere appreciation to the Customs Area Controller Katsina Command,Abba-Aji Idris for the warm welcome received by Students of Junior Division Course 20 who were on Operation Study Tour with the theme “Evaluating the Impact of Insecurity on the Cross-border Supply Chain in Nigeria”
The ACG represented by the team leader Operation Study Tour, Assistant Comptroller of Customs M A Ayoola made the Commendation while debriefing.
“All the cooperation, data etc we got from Command, Sister Agencies , Stakeholders katsina , that would assist in writing our papers was as a result of your leadership style” Team leader asserted.
In his response, Customs Controller Katsina Command expressed his profound gratitude to the Almighty God for the successful completion of the exercise. He also thanked his management, Officers and men of the Command , Team leaders and Students of Operations Study Tour for the tremendous support given towards achieving the goals of the exercise.
” I want to use this medium to appreciate the efforts made by all parties involved for making the exercise successful”he stated.
During the Drill, the Students were subjected to presentations and trips to some selected Border stations considered relevant to their research paper. They were also able to explore Sister Agencies so as to get information peculiar to their research topic. And Recommendations were made about the possible Solutions to the problem.
Meanwhile ,the Chairman of Customs licenced Agents katsina Alh Hamza Sale Marini while speaking about the effects of Insecurity in the state, attributed the cause of the problem to Border Closure and the political impasse between Benin republic and Niger Republic. He therefore appealed to the Federal Government to either reopen the rest of the borders that were closed in the state or intervene to resolve conflict between those Countries. And this according to him would reduce the rate of Insecurity in the state.
Recall that the Students from Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC) were in Katsina state for Operation Study Tour from 18 to 22 November 2024. The Tour according to the Team leader was part of the College’s Curriculum for the Students of Junior Course Division 20 meant to help them get first hand information on their research papers.
