The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has set a new record with a revenue collection of ₦20,156,077,098.56 in a single day, barely 24 hours after Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba assumed office as the Customs Area Controller.
The collection, recorded on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, through the Unified Customs Management System (B’Odogwu), is now the highest daily revenue ever achieved by any Customs command in the country. It surpasses the previous record of ₦18 billion.
Confirming the achievement, Superintendent of Customs John Tunde Ayagbalo, Public Relations Officer of Apapa Command, said Comptroller Oshoba had in his maiden address vowed to consolidate on the successes of his predecessor and surpass the command’s revenue target.
Addressing senior officers shortly after taking over, the new CAC commended past efforts but urged them to increase their tempo of productivity. He emphasized that outstanding results are the true measure of hard work, dedication, and an uncompromising commitment to duty.
On the ₦20.1 billion daily milestone, Oshoba remarked that it was “only the beginning of greater exploits” for the command.
He further described the B’Odogwu platform as critical to building a modern and efficient Customs administration, with potential to reinforce Nigeria’s economic strength as Africa’s largest economy.
