The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the ascension of Oba (Dr) Richard Adebayo Faforiji to the throne of his forbearers as undeniable supremacy of God’s power over the affairs of man, expressing confidence in the new monarch of his capacity to engender peace and development in the ancient town.
It would be recalled that the Osun State Government had in a statement signed by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Spokesperson to the Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, last Friday announced the appointment of Dr. Faforiji as the Alamuye of Amuye Faforiji in Atakunmosa-East Local Government Area of the State.
In a congratulatory message signed by the State Caretaker Committee chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle, the PDP lauded Oba Faforiji for his tenacity and steadfastness in the face of the unsavoury hurdles thrown on his path to the throne. He conveyed the good wishes of members of the party in the state to the new monarch.
Dr Akindele who saluted the people of Amuye Faforiji for standing by their Kabiyesi during the years of struggle, said the bond existing between the charismatic monarch and his subjects, is indicative of the harmony and tranquility the ancient town will witness under the reign of Kabiyesi.
“As a party, we rejoice with Oba (Dr) Richard Adebayo Faforiji on his ascension to the throne of his forebearers. By the strength of his experience and commitment, we know for a fact, that he will drive growth and development in the town while promoting peace and stability as a known humble personality.
“As a former local government chairman and Commissioner, Oba Faforiji indeed posseses the needed qualities to handle the enormous responsibilities associated with his new role as undisputed father of his kingdom.
“Our party wishes Kabiyesi a successful reign on the throne, just as we pray God to grant him enormous wisdom to bear in fostering unity, peace and positive developments, not only for the people of Amuye Faforiji, but also in Osun state and Nigeria as at large.”
