Praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, the last of Prophets, on his family, and all his companions.
Dear brothers and sisters! It is reported in some narrations that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was born with a cut umbilical cord and circumcised, but these narrations are either weak or fabricated. Indeed, there are other Prophetic narrations which contradict the above narrations, which state that Abdul-Muttalib, the grandfather of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) circumcised him on the seventh day. It is for this reason that some Islamic scholars adopt the view that he was not born circumcised.
Among these Islamic scholars was Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim as he stated in his book, Zadul-Ma’ad, when he mentioned the first view in this issue:
“One of these opinions is that he was born circumcised with a cut umbilical cord, however, the narration which was reported in this regard is unauthentic. Abu Faraj Ibn Al-Jawzi listed this narration in the book of fabricated narrations. No authentic narration was mentioned in this issue which states that he was born circumcised, and no one can prove it on the pretext that this is peculiar to him as many people were born circumcised.”
As regards Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) being born clean from any blood stains and the like, then there’s no also any authentic evidence proving this despite the large number of books that we have on the subject.
Respected brothers and sisters! While the Islamic practice of male circumcision is rooted in a tradition of following the Prophet Muhammad’s example (Sunnah), there are no authoritative sources within the Salaf tradition that support the idea of the Prophet Muhammad being born without a foreskin. In fact, the concept that Prophets were born circumcised is a tradition found in some Jewish interpretations, which some Islamic texts and Islamic scholars cite, but is not a universally accepted belief within Islamic tradition. It’s important to distinguish this from other early Islamic beliefs, such as the idea that Prophet Ibrahim was circumcised, which became a foundation for the practice in Islam.
In summary, the belief that certain Prophets were born circumcised is a tradition found in some Jewish texts, like the Avot de-Rabbi Nathan.
While the Qur’an does not mention circumcision, some Hadith suggest it, while others propose that some Prophets were born with a foreskin that was later removed.
The practice of circumcision was common in pre-Islamic Arabia, and Islam adopted and codified it as part of the Fitrah or natural disposition of a refined person.
Circumcision became a symbol of religious purity, a covenant with Allah, and a connection to the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim.
Some Islamic scholars consider circumcision to be a Sunnah, while others consider it an obligation.
The absence of direct mention of circumcision in the Qur’an means its religious status relies on the Sunnah and the interpretations of Islamic scholars.
Fellow brothers and sisters! Also there are no credible Islamic sources or authentic narrations describing our beloved Prophet Muhammad’s birth with antimony (Kwalli) in his eyes as a “miracle;” instead, the idea is a false claim and a fabricated story. This misconception is not supported by any Islamic scripture and is likely a misinterpretation or exaggeration of his natural qualities, emphasising instead the Qur’an as his greatest and enduring miracle.
Therefore the claim of antimony (Kwalli) in the Prophet’s eyes is not found in the Qur’an or in the reliable Hadith literature, which are the primary sources of Islamic teachings.
This idea appears to be a misrepresentation or a fabrication, possibly an attempt to discredit the Prophet’s character or to find an excuse for physical traits.
All the Muslims believe in the Qur’an as the Prophet’s enduring miracle and the split of the moon as a significant sign during his time. These true miracles are the focus of Islamic teachings, not such fabrications.
The noble Qur’an is considered the greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and a constant source of guidance for all of humanity.
Another miracle during his lifetime was the moon splitting into two parts at the request of the disbelievers.
Other authentic miracles mentioned in Islamic tradition include a flying horse and a journey to the heavens.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his character and inner spiritual strength, rather than any supposed physical oddities or fabricated signs.
His strength came from his unwavering connection to Allah Almighty and his role as the Messenger of Allah, which is the true source of his greatness.
