The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), revealed that over 1.5 million candidates scored below the 200 mark.
Out of the 1,955,069 candidates who registered for the examination, only 420,415 scored above 200. A total of 4,756 candidates scored 320 and above, while 7,658 candidates scored between 300 and 319.
According to the breakdown provided by JAMB:
12,414 candidates (0.63%) scored 300 and above
98,269 (5.02%) scored between 250–299
334,560 (17.11%) scored between 200–249
983,187 (50.29%) scored between 160–199
488,197 (24.97%) scored between 140–159
Over 5,800 candidates scored below 120, with 2,031 recording scores under 100
The Board also noted that results for some categories, including visually impaired candidates and members of the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), are still being processed.
Additionally, 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to take the exam; however, only 467 (1.16%) met the benchmark for further assessment.
JAMB also reported 97 confirmed cases of examination malpractice, with 2,157 more under investigation. A total of 71,701 candidates were absent, and several others are experiencing biometric verification issues.
“All candidates with unresolved biometric challenges will be rescheduled once investigations are concluded,” JAMB stated.
A press conference is expected later in the week to address individual result access and further updates.
