A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Usman Ololade Bakare, has congratulated the people of Oyo State on the occasion of the state’s golden jubilee, marking 50 years since its creation.
Dr. Bakare described the anniversary as a celebration of five decades of identity, resilience, and remarkable progress achieved by the sons and daughters of the state. He noted that the milestone reflects the unbreakable spirit of the people and the sacrifices of the founding fathers.
According to him, Oyo State has grown in strength, culture, enterprise, and unity over the past five decades, producing great minds and strong institutions. He commended the contributions of farmers, artisans, civil servants, students, professionals, and entrepreneurs who continue to project the state’s image positively across Nigeria and beyond.
The cyber security expert stressed that the golden jubilee should also serve as a moment of reflection on the future of the state.
“As we celebrate 50 years since the creation of Oyo State, we must reflect on the journey ahead. Our Golden Jubilee should inspire us to build a state that works for everyone where security is assured, jobs are created, education is strengthened, healthcare is accessible, and opportunities are available for our youth and women,” he said.
Dr. Bakare further called for deepening good governance and promoting accountability to ensure that development reaches all communities.
“We must promote accountability and ensure that development reaches every community, not just a few,” he added.
Reaffirming his political ambition, the APC gubernatorial hopeful pledged to serve the people with sincerity, competence, and compassion if given the opportunity.
“Together, we can turn our shared dreams into reality and make the next 50 years greater than the last,” he stated.
