A leading governorship aspirant in All Progressives Congress (APC), Ololade Usman Bakare, has expressed deep sympathy with the management, staff, and students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, as well as the families of six nursing students who lost their lives in a tragic road accident.
Bakare, an alumnus of the institution, described the incident as devastating and heartbreaking, noting that the loss represents not only a tragedy for the affected families but also a significant setback to the healthcare aspirations of Oyo State.
In a condolence message, the APC chieftain prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed students and expressed solidarity with their families and loved ones during what he described as a period of immense grief and pain.
He also appealed to motorists and other road users to exercise caution and prioritise safety while travelling in order to prevent avoidable loss of lives.
“To lose six future health professionals and change-makers is not only heartbreaking but a huge blow to our collective aspirations of strengthening and rebranding our health sector. The entire LAUTECH alumni community and the good people of Oyo State mourn this painful loss,” Bakare stated.
The governorship aspirant further urged the university’s management, staff, and students to remain strong and united in the face of the tragedy, while praying that God grants the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
He concluded by praying that the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.
