Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar is leading prominent Islamic leaders to Ibadan on Sunday Sept. 30, for the fund raising for the building of N1.5 bn International Islamic Centre for the Muslim Community of Oyo state (MUSCOYS).
In a statement by the MUSCOYS Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Oyo state Governor, Ishaq Ajimobi will host his colleague governors from Osun, Ogun, Kano and Kaduna states.
Speaking on the long list of Special Guests of Honour, Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, the Chairman of the Community said Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President Dangote Group of Companies will lead others like Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, Alhaji Ahmed Raji SAN and Alhaji Sakariyau Babalola.
The launching has been slated for the permanent site of the community at the Aerodrome GRA, Samonda, Ibadan will start from 10.00a.m.
Other dignitaries expected at the launching include Alhaji Daud Makanjuola, Aare Musulumi of Yoruba-land including Edo and Delta states as well as the league of Imams and Alfas in Yoruba land and other Islamic titled holders.
Sanni said the multi-purpose International Islamic Centre will be the first of its kind in Nigeria and West Africa as it contains all facilities for the Muslim Ummah.
The Islamic leader said the centre belongs to all Muslims, though located in Ibadan, saying all Muslim groups and societies have been invited to be part of the history making occasion.
