The Senior Special Assistant to Oyo state Governor on Diaspora Matters, Mrs Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, has said that the State Government through her office will receive last batch of Oyo state returnees from Lebanon by October 1st, 2020.
Sarumi-Aliyu, while speaking expressed deep appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde, for his commitment and unflinching support to the wellbeing of Oyo state indigenes home and abroad described the Governor’s passion as unprecedented and uncommon.
Mrs Sarumi further commended the Engr Seyi Makinde for the support given to the Diaspora office for optimal operations stressed that results recorded within the short period of take off was as a result of the Governor’s huge commitment and support.
She explained that among the last set of returnees were two ladies who returned with pregnancies and had successfully gave birth two boys on 15th sept, 2020 added that the mothers have decided to name their new born after Oyo state Governor,Seyi Makinde.
She said ” “The Diaspora office is using this medium to express its profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for his love, passion, and commitment towards ensuring that no Oyo State indigene regardless of the country he or she is domiciled in the world suffers.
“Just yesterday, two of our July 11 returnee ladies put to bed two bouncing baby boys, all these was made possible because the Governors passion for his people is unrivalled and unprecedented as a Governor in this state.
We also are grateful to Silver wings travel agency, Lebanese government, Nigerian mission, for their usual support and cooperation in ensuring smooth extraction and repatriation of our girls from Lebanon.
“As a government, we will continue to cooperate and work with other high commissions and international agencies to ensure that non of Oyo state indigenesresident or domiciled in any country in the world is subjected to any form of inhuman treatment while seeking greener pastures in foreign lands,”.
