Palmpay MD hails CAC on seamless service delivery during visit to its bulk POS registration centre

The Managing Director/ CEO Pamlpay, Mr. Chika Nwosu has applauded the Registrar General, Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN for the robust relationship existing between the Commission and Palmpay that has resulted in the seamless registration of its agents.

Mr Chika Nwosu made this assertion while on a courtesy visit to the Commission’s Bulk Registration Centre at its Wuse Zone 5 Office.

He commended the Commission for creating a platform for the registration of its agents.

In order to sustain this laudable venture and make the process user friendly,he appealed that the Oasis Management should optimize its platform for maximum flexibility.

With regard to the July, 7 deadline earlier fixed for all agents under Fintechs to be registered, he asked for an extension to enable Palmpay accommodate more of its agents.

He opined that presently Palmpay have over three hundred thousand (300,000) agents,merchants and individuals under their platform.

Chika Nwosu was accompanied on the visit by Mr Tokoni Peter Igoni, the S A to the President on ICT and Mr Donald Ubeh, Chief compliance Officer, Palmpay.

In his response, the Registrar General, Corporate Affairs Commission who was represented by the Director, Customer Service, Mr. Duke Ukaga thanked the Palmpay team for the visit and assured the delegation of the Commission’s readiness to ensure that all their requests are attended to.

He further requested for details of all their pending applications with a view to handling them with dispatch.

The Special Adviser to the Registrar General Mr. Terver Ayua-Jor also informed the delegation that the Registrar General has committed time and resources to ensure that the Commission delivers on its mandate.

He assured the Palmpay team that the Commission will meet up with the July, 7 deadline and that if there is need for extension of time, the Commission may consider it.

Also present at the meeting were the Director, Business Name, Mr J. D Anga, , Mr Dominic Inyang, Head, Public Affairs, Mr Muftahu Bello, Head, CAC Zone 5 Office, Mr Habib Muhammed, Mr Zubairu Katsina, and Mr. Ushie Moses Enamhe,staff of Public Affairs and the RG’S office respectively.

The visit was in response to the Commission’s directives on regularization of Fintechs in compliance with the requirements of Section 836 (1) of the Companies and Allied Matters, CAMA 2020 and the CBN guidelines for Agent Banking, 2013.

Highpoint of the visit was a guided tour of the bulk registration centre Wuse Zone 5 Abuja by the Palmpay MD.
