Parents of murdered 100 level Joshua Daniel-Ejigbo charges Veritas University to come out clean over child’s death

The parents of slain 100Level student, Joshua Ejuojo Daniel-Ejigbo have called on the management of Veritas University to unravel the truth behind the death of son,the parents also distanced themselves from the recent arraignment and prosecution of three students of Veritas University in connection with their son’s death at Veritas University Bwari.

The parents said it was necessary to make the clarification because from the outset, they lost faith in the Police processes, which have been opaque and seemingly designed to frustrate them from getting to the truth.

According to them, “the recent arraignment of these students was conducted without any notification to us, despite being listed as a witness in the case. Stressing that “this lack of communication is contrary to standard Police procedure. As the father of the deceased, I am owed a duty by the Police to be kept updated on the investigation and any decision impacting the process. Regrettably, this has not occured,” the statement released Sunday night added.

The statement read in part;

Due to our concerns about the handling of this case, we had previously petitioned both the Inspector General of Police to report the ineptitude and deliberate stalling of investigations by the FCT Police Command and the House of Representatives to intervene. It appears that the hurried arrangement of these students which was carried out on the eve of the scheduled public hearing by the House of Representatives, is an attempt by the Police to cover their failings.

We want to make it unequivocally clear that we, as parents have had nothing to do with the arraignment, prosecution or detention of these three students.

We have been kept entirely in the dark by the Police regarding these proceedings and we question the motivations behind this sudden action, which we view as unwholesome without prejudice to the outcome of the Police investigations.

Our sole desire remains to uncover the truth about our son’s tragic death and to ensure that justice is served properly. We continue to call for a thorough transparent and unbiased investigation into this matter.
