The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt II Command, has surpassed its 2025 revenue target after recording a total collection of N731.2 billion, exceeding the approved target of N700.01 billion by N31.25 billion, representing a 4.46 per cent increase.
The milestone followed the Command’s strong performance in the previous year and underscored sustained efficiency in revenue generation and trade facilitation within its operational area.
The achievement has been credited to the leadership of the Area Controller, Comptroller Aliyu M. Alkali, whose effective implementation of the Comptroller-General of Customs’ policy thrust and deployment of the indigenous Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), known as the B’ODOGWU platform, enhanced cargo clearance and operational effectiveness.
Comptroller Alkali also ensured strict adherence to standard operating procedures, reinforced discipline among officers, and maintained continuous engagement with key stakeholders in the maritime and logistics sectors.
While acknowledging the importance of quality leadership, the Area Controller expressed gratitude to the Management of the Nigeria Customs Service, led by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for providing an enabling environment that facilitated the achievement. He also appreciated the cooperation and synergy of stakeholders whose support contributed to the Command’s success.
He further commended officers of the Command for their dedication, diligence, and professionalism, noting that their uncompromising posture led to the interception of 75 containers with a cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N47.6 billion.
According to him, 30 of the intercepted containers contained expired, illicit, and unregistered pharmaceutical products, while other consignments violated various provisions of Customs laws. He stated that the seizures were intended to deter would-be violators of extant regulations.
Comptroller Alkali reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while enforcing Customs regulations, urging importers and licensed Customs agents to make honest declarations and assured continued professionalism and integrity in service delivery.
