The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed two seasoned officers, AIG Suleiman Amuda Yusuf and AIG Rhoda Adetutu Olofu, as Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) to fill existing vacancies in the Nigeria Police Force.
The appointment was announced by the PSC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Ikechukwu Ani, on Wednesday, following the retirement of the DIGs previously in charge of Operations and Information and Communication Technology.
AIG Suleiman Amuda Yusuf, who previously served as AIG Zone 9 Umuahia, brings extensive experience to his new role, having held various positions, including AIG Federal Operations at Force Headquarters, Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, and CP of the Police Mobile Force.
Similarly, AIG Rhoda Adetutu Olofu, the immediate past Force Secretary, has served in notable capacities such as AIG Maritime Police Command in Lagos, CP of the X-Squad at the Force CID, and CP of the Western Ports Command.
The PSC commended both officers for their exemplary service records and reaffirmed its commitment to merit-based promotions.
Chairman of the PSC, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), congratulated the new DIGs, urging them to contribute significantly to the strategic direction of the Nigeria Police Force.
The appointment of the new DIGs is expected to bolster the Force’s operational effectiveness and inspire improved performance across departments.
