PSC extends Police Constable recruitment deadline as over 400,000 apply

The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have announced a two-week extension for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables. The application portal, which opened on 15 December 2025, will now close on 8 February 2026.

The extension came after the PSC received over 400,000 applications and identified significant disparities in participation across states. While states such as Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna recorded high numbers of applicants, Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra lagged behind.

Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the PSC in a release, said the decision is aimed at ensuring equitable representation nationwide. He urged all eligible Nigerians, particularly from states with fewer applications, to submit their applications via the official portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

The PSC and NPF also called on state governments, local councils, religious bodies, community leaders, and sociocultural organizations to mobilize citizens to apply before the new deadline, reaffirmed their commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process.
