The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to strengthen the fight against corruption in the administration of the Federal Government’s Defined Benefit Pension Scheme (DBS).
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by PTAD Executive Secretary, Tolulope Odunaiya, and ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN), provided a legal framework for collaboration in monitoring, investigating, and preventing corrupt practices within the pension system.
Mrs. Odunaiya said the agreement was a reflection of PTAD’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
“The MoU reflects our shared determination to combat pension corruption within the DBS, uphold integrity, and advance good governance for pensioners and stakeholders. By leveraging our combined strengths, we can significantly enhance our capacity to prevent, detect, and prosecute corruption-related offences, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” she stated.
Dr. Aliyu, in his remarks, described the collaboration as a bold step towards sanitising the pension sector.
“By combining PTAD’s robust and digitised database with the investigative and prosecutorial powers of the ICPC, we are creating a seamless and powerful force. This partnership underscores our shared mandate to safeguard Nigerians’ welfare from fraudulent practices,” he said.
Both institutions pledged to work closely to ensure accountability, transparency, and improved service delivery for pensioners across the country.
