The Niger State Government has extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and beyond as the holy month of Ramadan begins, called on the faithful to use the period to pray for peace, unity, and national stability.
In a Ramadan message issued on behalf of the government and people of the state, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, described Ramadan as a sacred period devoted to spiritual reflection, sacrifice, compassion, and renewed commitment to faith.
He noted that the fasting period offered Muslims an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with Allah through devotion, self-discipline, charity, and the promotion of harmony within families and communities.
The commissioner urged Muslims to dedicate prayers to the progress of Niger State and Nigeria, particularly for leaders at all levels of government, seeking divine wisdom, integrity, and guidance in governance for the collective good of citizens.
According to him, the values of patience, tolerance, and generosity associated with Ramadan should extend beyond the fasting period and shape daily interactions among Nigerians.
He also called for peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and responsible citizenship among residents, emphasizing the importance of unity during the holy month.
The Niger State Government wished Muslims a spiritually rewarding Ramadan and prayed for the acceptance of their fasting, prayers, and charitable acts, while expressing hope for the successful completion of the holy month in good health and prosperity.
