In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation. May Allah extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels and grant him peace; and likewise, his family, his Companions and all those who truly and sincerely follow him until the Day of Resurrection.
Dear brothers and sisters! Prophet Isa (Jesus) holds a significant place in Islamic tradition as one of the five great Prophets (Ulul Azmi Minar-Rusul), known for his message of Islam and monotheism that spread throughout the world. His story is filled with miraculous events, from his birth to his ascension.
Prophet Isa (Jesus) was born to Maryam (Mary), a devout woman. The angel Jibril (Gabriel) informed Maryam (Mary) that she would give birth to a blessed son without a father, a miracle from Allah the Almighty.
When the time came, she retreated to a distant place and gave birth under a palm tree, where Allah provided her with dates for nourishment. Isa (Jesus) was born in Bethlehem, in the Noble land of Palestine.
After his birth, Maryam (Mary) returned to her people with her blessed son. The people were astonished and accused her of wrongdoing. However, Allah made Prophet Isa (Jesus) speak while he was still a baby in the cradle. He said:
“Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive. And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive.” [Qur’an, 19:30-33]
Prophet Isa (Jesus) grew up and was given the Injil (Gospel) by Allah. He traveled, spreading the message of Islam and monotheism. Allah supported him with miracles, such as: Raising the dead,
Healing lepers and the blind,
Creating a bird from clay and giving it life.
Towards the end of his mission, some people plotted against Prophet Isa (Jesus). However, Allah saved him, as the Qur’an states:
“And [for] their saying, ‘Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), the messenger of Allah.’ And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but [another man] was made to resemble him to them… Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.” [Qur’an, 4:157-158]
Allah lifted Jesus to the heavens, saving him from the plot of his enemies. And Muslims believe he will return before the Day of Judgment to restore peace and justice.
Respected brothers and sisters! The story of Prophet Isa (Jesus) offers numerous valuable lessons, including the importance of unwavering faith in Allah, compassion towards others, and the power of miracles as signs of divine intervention. His miraculous birth and ability to speak as a baby demonstrate Allah’s omnipotence and the extraordinary nature of His Prophets.
Prophet Isa (Jesus)’s dedication to spreading the message of Islam and monotheism and performing miracles, such as healing the sick and raising the dead, underscores the significance of mercy and benevolence.
Additionally, his ascension teaches us about Allah’s protection and the eventual triumph of truth and justice. These lessons inspire believers to lead lives of piety, kindness, and steadfastness in their faith.
Beloved brothers and sisters! Today is Tuesday, 25 Ramadan, 1446 AH (25 March, 2025) according to Sultanate Council. 05 Days countdown to the month Shawwal.
Ya Allah, on this day, make us among those who love Your friends, and hate Your enemies, following the way of Your last Prophet, O the Guardian of the hearts of the Prophets.
May Allah give us the ability to observe all our daily Ibadats, accept them and reward us with Jannatul Firdaws, ameen.
