Ramadan Series, Day 02: Do Not Hesitate, Submit All Your Problems To Allah The Almighty! By Imam Murtadha Gusau

Sunday, Ramadan 02, 1446 AH (02/03/2025)

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation. May Allah extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels and grant him peace; and likewise, his family, his Companions and all those who truly and sincerely follow him until the Day of Resurrection.

Dear brothers and sisters! There are instances in life when you feel all alone. I don’t mean it in literal sense. What I mean by being alone is that you can’t relate yourself with anyone. Not your frenemies, your well-wishers, your relatives, your siblings, or even your parents. It seems like no one gets what you are feeling. It’s very painful where you are not able to express what you feel. And even in the midst of crowd you will feel all alone, like a misfit on this planet. In this competitive, ruthless, aggressive race of moving ahead in life and proving oneself, no one seems to have time and energy for your rantings. It seems like you are static or slowed down and world does not seem to care, it will continue with or without you.

Hold on.. There is actually someone who cares about what you feel. Yes! Have you thought of sharing your thoughts, your feelings with the One who created this whole world. Even though He already knows what you feel, your feelings, intricacies, complexities more than yourself, He wants to hear it all from you. Just internalise it. The King of all kings. The Owner of all. Your Rabb (Lord) loves to hear your voice. You an insignificant speck in universe are not insignificant to Allah, the Creator of this universe. He loves to hear your rantings. He can hear what you speak and He can hear the unspoken. He is the owner and maintainer of heavens and earth and all in between and of all what we don’t know about. It does not stop Him from listening to your incoherent speech. Share all your complexities, share what you can’t share with anyone. Share it with Him. He knows. He understands it all, the internal conflicts, the struggles. You may not be able to express it all. Don’t worry about coherence. Just Tell Him. Everything.

“…Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.” [Qur’an, 13:28]

“…I complain of my anguish and sorrow only to Allah, and I know from Allah what you do not know.” [Qur’an, 12:86]

“O believers! Seek comfort in patience and prayer. Allah is truly with those who are patient.” [Qur’an, 2:153]

“When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way.˺” [Qur’an, 2:186]

“Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss…” [Qur’an, 2:286]

“Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test?” [Qur’an, 29:2]

“Allah ˹alone˺ is sufficient ˹as an aid˺ for us and ˹He˺ is the best Protector.” [Qur’an, 3:173]

“…I entrust my affairs to Allah. Surely Allah is All-Seeing of all ˹His˺ servants.” [Qur’an, 40:44]

“Surely with ˹that˺ hardship comes ˹more˺ ease.” [Qur’an, 94:6]

Ya Allah, on this day make our fasts the fasts of those who fast sincerely and our standing up in prayer of those who stand up in prayer. Awaken us from the sleep of the heedless and forgive us our sins. O Lord of the worlds forgive us, O one who forgives the sinners.

Ya Allah on this day take us closer towards your pleasure, keep us away from your anger and punishment, grant us the opportunity to recite your verses by your mercy, O the most merciful.

All perfect praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. May the peace, blessings and salutations of Allah be upon our noble Messenger, Muhammad (Peace be upon him), and upon his family, his Companions and his true followers.
