RIGAN National Council meeting to hold in Ilorin, elections on agenda

The Research Institutes Games Association of Nigeria (RIGAN) has announced that its National Council Meeting and Elections will take place from October 6–9, 2025, at the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In a statement, RIGAN President, Prof. O.F. Owolade, welcomed Council Members to the meeting, appreciating the Hosting Institute for its support and commending the Directors-General and Executive Directors of member institutions for their continued collaboration.

RIGAN, which brought together 35 Research and Development Institutes under different Federal Ministries, is dedicated to promoting physical fitness, fostering healthy competition, and creating avenues for recreation and development. Membership in the association also provides networking opportunities, sports development, and institutional growth.

The four-day event will feature a National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting, the National Council Meeting, and the election of new National Officers. Prof. Owolade wished all aspirants for executive positions success, stressing that their active participation is vital for the association’s growth and development.

With its track record of excellence and member-driven initiatives, RIGAN is expected to use the Ilorin meeting as a platform to chart a fresh course for the organization, consolidating on past achievements and enhancing collaboration across research and development institutes in Nigeria.
