Osun Rights Alliance (ORA) has defended the deployment of CP Omoyele as the Chief Security Officer to Governor Ademola Adeleke, affirmed that the Police Officer has since been cleared of accusations and allegations.
Responding to a publication raising questions about appropriateness of the appointment, the group in a statement posited that Omoyele was investigated by the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and was cleared of all accusations of involvement in the killings during political violence at Ede.
The statement signed by the Convener of the group, Omolola Kareem Esq affirmed that while the incident was unfortunate, the family had also withdrawn the case before the court, warning political enemies not to dabble into a matter they are incompetent about.
” We submit that Omoyele is a responsible officer of the law who has high records in service. Investigation by FCID established that he was not culpable in the killings. He is therefore at liberty to continue national service including serving as the Chief Security Officer to Osun State Governor.
” We also want to note that the family has resolved the matter out of court. This happened long ago even before the clean bill of health was issued to the police officer. The CSO to the Governor therefore has no criminal indictment nor suffer any handicap that may prevent him from further national service.
” We therefore condemn any campaign of calumny against a patriotic and efficient police officer who is busy with the serious assignment of securing the state’s chief executive. We also urge members of the public to ignore agents of misinformation who are remnants of defeated forces of yesterday.
