Political and religious leaders, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria Dr. Oliver Ali Abah, Right Reverend Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, have called for unity and patience as Nigeria tackles economic challenges.
Speaking at a Christmas service at the Anglican Church, Marina, Lagos, Orelope-Adefulire sympathized with families affected by recent stampedes, pledging better event planning to prevent future tragedies.
In his remarks,Governor Sanwo-Olu reassured Nigerians of ongoing efforts to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal, focusing on improvements in health, education, and transportation. He expressed optimism about economic recovery, urging citizens to remain hopeful for a prosperous 2025.
The Religious leaders also encouraged unity and faith. Prelate Abah likened the nation’s challenges to labor pains, urging resilience, while Bishop Okupevi called on leaders to address economic hardships and citizens to pray for a brighter future.
