Senators’ Wives mourn with Hajia Laila Barau over mother’s passing

The Senators’ Wives Association of Nigeria (SEWAN) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mrs. Nelda Mohammed, mother of Hajia Laila Barau, wife of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau.

In a condolence message signed by SEWAN President, Dr. (Mrs.) Unoma Godswill Akpabio, and made available to journalists in Abuja, the association described the loss as “irreparable,” noting that it brings immense grief to the family.

“We, the Senators’ Wives Association of Nigeria, extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved mother. This irreparable loss undoubtedly brings immense grief to you and your family,” the statement read.

Dr. Akpabio also conveyed the association’s sympathy to Senator Jibrin Barau and the entire family, prayed for divine comfort and strength during this difficult time.

“May the memories of your mother’s love, wisdom, and legacy bring you strength and comfort. We stand in solidarity with you, sharing in your sorrow and offering our deepest sympathies. May Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus,” she added.

Mrs. Nelda Mohammed passed away recently, prompting an outpouring of condolences from friends, political associates, and well-wishers across the country.
