SGF approves appointment of Two Deputy Corps Marshals to strengthen Road Safety management

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume CON, has approved the appointment of two Assistant Corps Marshals (ACM) as Deputy Corps Marshals (DCM) for the South East and North East geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

The appointments of DCM Hyginus Omeje, formerly head of the Operations Department, and DCM Mark Sabiya, previously in charge of the Department of Finance and Accounts at the FRSC national headquarters, are aimed at strengthening leadership, improving operational efficiency, and consolidating road safety management across the nation.
Speaking on the appointments, the SGF noted the importance of deploying experienced, disciplined, and performance-driven officers to strategic positions to enhance national road safety management and service delivery to Nigerians.

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),Shehu Mohammed described the appointments as a timely and well-considered intervention, emphasized that both officers have decades of distinguished service, operational excellence, and commitment to the ideals of the Corps. He further stated that their leadership will enhance command effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and the execution of targeted road safety interventions.

The Corps Marshal charged the newly appointed Deputy Corps Marshals to leverage their wealth of experience in tackling traffic and road safety challenges, reinforcing the Corps’ commitment to safer roads for all Nigerians.
