Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mukhtar, founder of Muhammadu Rosululahi, has once again demonstrated exemplary generosity, living by the legacy of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
During a Wolimat Qur’an ceremony held on 15 February in Ibadan for the children of Alhaji Abdullateef Kokonbilo, a call was made to support their teacher in performing the pilgrimage (Hajj). Without hesitation, Sheikh Ahmad pledged ₦2,000,000, and true to his word, he fulfilled the pledge on 17 February.
The gesture embodied the prophetic tradition of honesty and generosity, reflecting why Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was famously nicknamed Al-Ameen – the trustworthy. Scholars and leaders, observers say, should emulate this example by practicing generosity, not just preaching it.
The ceremony was chaired by Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central. Alhaji Abdullateef Kokonbilo expressed deep admiration for Sheikh Ahmad’s act, noting that he had never witnessed a Yoruba Islamic scholar spend his wealth selflessly without expecting anything in return.
“May Allah continue to bless Sheikh Ahmad for his dedication to the teachings of the Prophet,” Kokonbilo added.
