Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has secured a second term in office after winning the Anambra State governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results after the conclusion of collation across all 21 local government areas of the state. Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes, maintaining a commanding lead over his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes.
Other contenders included the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which scored 8,208 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which recorded 1,401 votes.
INEC disclosed that 584,054 votes were cast in total across the state. The election, described as peaceful and credible, witnessed low voter turnout in several polling units but no major incidents of violence were reported.
Governor Soludo, who first assumed office in 2022, ran on a campaign promising continuity in reforms, infrastructure development, education revitalization, and digital innovation.
Election observers commended INEC for what they described as a marked improvement in logistics, security coordination, and the effective use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
With his re-election, Soludo is expected to consolidate his administration’s achievements and address key challenges, including youth unemployment, security, and the state’s economic diversification agenda.
Political analysts said the outcome further cemented APGA’s dominance in Anambra politics and reaffirmed Soludo’s popularity among voters across the state.
