The Minister of Sports and Youth Development has mourned the passing of the Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland,Al imam Abdulyakeen Ashafa, ile masifa
The news of the cleric’s death was contained in a message made public by the Muslim Community of Ogbomoso.
Mr. Sunday Akin Dare,who is also the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland said the highly revered cleric will be dearly missed, because he has left a big vacuum which is not easy to fill.
While extolling the qualities of the late Chief Imam, Dare expressed gratitude to God for blessing Ogbomoso with a son like the late Imam.
“Baba’s death is a huge blow to us all, across religious leanings. He was a peace builder, a preacher of love, a bridge builder and an ardent supporter of the development of our dear Ogbomoso land. He was a gift, an uncommon one. He lived a life of service to the benefits of all. He will be sorely missed.
“I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his sins, grant him Aljannah Firdaus and console the family he left behind. “Chief Dare said.
