The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has mourned the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji to the great beyond.
Oba Saliu Adetunji joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the University College Hospital(UCH)Ibadan, Oyo State at the ripe age of 93.
He ascended the throne in March 2016.
Before his ascension, Oba Adetunji was a successful business man. He made immense contributions to the development of Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Minister, while condoling with the immediate family of Oba Adetunji, the people of Ibadan and the Oyo State Government, described him as a peace loving royal father who will be missed at this time of our national life.
Dare also said the country had lost a wise patriot whose fatherly advice and interventions played huge roles in the peace and stability that Oyo State and the entire South West of Nigeria is experiencing till this moment.
