Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase has hailed the affirmation of Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State by the Supreme Court.
In a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Umar Muhammad Puma, Wase said the judgement was a true reflection of what the people of Plateau state voted for.
The Deputy Speaker also implored Governor Lalong to work closely with all persons and interest groups to move the state forward, and appealed to the people of the state to remain law-abiding and give all the necessary support to the governor.
He urged Governor Lalong to build on the policies that have defined him as the most outstanding governor in terms of people-oriented programmes while sustaining the programmes and developmental agenda of the state in line with the All Progressives Congress (APC) manifesto.
He also thanked the people of Plateau state for setting aside their differences in the interest of the development of the state and for standing with the governor all these years, and appealed to the opposition to take the judgement in good faith for peace to continue reign.
While commending the judges of the Supreme Court for the land mark judgment, the Deputy Speaker noted that it will go a long way in restoring the confidence and hope of Nigerian people in the sanctity of the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.
