The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Sunday morning declared Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani the winner of the Adamawa governorship election. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has suspended the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, for losing his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the presidential and governorship polls. The party disclosed that the SGF did not contribute to the victory of its presidential and governorship candidates. ‘Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has lost his second term bid to Senator Aishat Binani of the All Progressives Congress. Binani was declared winner of the election after polling 409,909 votes ahead of the incumbent governor, Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party,who scored 406,617 votes. Binani who currently representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District,made history as the first female elected governor in Nigerian politics.
