The reform initiatives of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) have been described as pivotal to strengthening Nigeria’s economic growth and improving the business environment across the country.
Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, made this known during a dinner held in Abuja to commemorate the Commission’s 35th anniversary.
Oyedele commended the CAC for implementing reforms aimed at simplifying business registration and enhancing transparency, noted that such initiatives are essential to broadening the nation’s tax base and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He particularly applauded the Commission’s free registration of 3,500 small businesses, described the effort as aligned with the economic reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking earlier, the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, highlighted the Commission’s achievements over the past three years, emphasizing improvements in digital service delivery, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement.
Magaji praised members of staff for their dedication and commitment, described them as the driving force behind the Commission’s progress and institutional successes.
The anniversary event also featured remarks by a former Chairman of the CAC Board, Ropo Adesanya, alongside the presentation of awards to the most productive and innovative staff across state offices and the headquarters. The celebration concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake.
