Tinubu at 74: APC Chairman Yilwatda Hails President as Architect of New Nigeria

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 74th birthday, describing him as the “architect of a new Nigeria.”

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda said the milestone offered Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on the President’s life, leadership, and enduring contributions to the country’s democratic development.

According to the APC chairman, Tinubu’s political journey has been marked by vision, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to nation-building, noting that his leadership continues to shape Nigeria’s governance and economic direction.

He highlighted Tinubu’s role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle, his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, and his current position as President and Commander-in-Chief as evidence of a legacy rooted in progressive governance and reform.

Yilwatda commended the President’s administration for what he described as bold and far-reaching reforms aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges in the economy and governance system. He noted that Tinubu assumed office at a critical period and has since demonstrated courage in implementing policies designed to ensure long-term stability and inclusive growth.

The APC chairman said the administration’s initiatives to stabilise the economy, improve revenue generation, boost investor confidence, and expand infrastructure reflect a comprehensive strategy for national development. He added that ongoing reforms in key sectors, alongside social intervention programmes, are geared towards improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for Nigerians.

He further praised the government’s focus on youth empowerment, digital innovation, agriculture, energy security, and ease of doing business, describing them as critical pillars for sustainable growth.

On security and national unity, Yilwatda said the Tinubu administration remained committed to building a stable and inclusive federation where citizens can thrive.

“Meaningful reform often comes with temporary discomfort, but the sacrifices of today will yield a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” he stated.

Reaffirming the APC’s support for the President, Yilwatda expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, noting that his governance reflects the party’s core values of courage, justice, inclusion, and national renewal.

He prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the President, urging him to sustain efforts toward peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

“Happy 74th Birthday, Mr. President. Nigeria is grateful for your service. History will remember your courage,” the statement added.
