President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, on her election as Vice-President of Airports Council International (ACI) Africa.
Her election was ratified at the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly, which held in Lusaka, Zambia, from September 13, 2025, and concluded on Friday, September 19.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended the FAAN boss for her leadership, foresight, and dedication to repositioning Nigeria’s aviation sector.
He noted that Mrs. Kuku’s election reflects the global recognition of the sustained efforts of FAAN under her management to make air transport in Nigeria safe, efficient, and aligned with international standards.
The President recalled that the FAAN MD had earlier served as Regional Advisor for Africa and later became a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board before her latest elevation.
Founded in 1991, ACI is the global trade representative of airports worldwide, with more than 2,000 member airports across 170 countries and territories. It developed standards, policies, and best practices for airport management and operations.
