President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as an affirmation of his visionary leadership and the progress achieved under his administration.
In a statement issued on Sunday from the State House, President Tinubu said Soludo’s landslide victory in Saturday’s governorship election has made him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term in office.
The President also commended the people of Anambra, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and successful conduct of the poll.
“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” President Tinubu stated. “Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people through accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.”
The President recalled his visit to Anambra in May 2025, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, described the experience as “remarkable and indelible.” He praised the governor for bringing “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance,” noting that under his leadership, “Anambra is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.”
President Tinubu urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents, emphasized the need for unity and cooperation in the state’s continued development. He also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the Anambra State government.
“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) in the election again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied,” he said.
The President further commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers have described as a credible election, urged the Commission to sustain and improve its performance in future polls.
